Ralph’s Radio in Vancouver and Victoria offer the best valued, most reliable blind spot systems on the market today. Since our company was founded in 1949, we have stayed on the cutting edge of vehicle technology. Nowhere is this more evident than in driver safety. Every day it seems like another car manufacturer is touting their driver safety products, so our clients are now familiar with the technology. In the world of modern consumer electronics these days, it seems there are more low-quality products offered than good ones that you can trust. Fortunately, our team spends hundreds of hours every year researching and testing products before we offer them to our valued clients. Rest assured, solutions purchased from us will be the best-valued, highest-performing products on the market. Our blind spot systems are broken down into two distinct styles: camera-based systems and sensor-based systems.
Blind Spot Systems That are Sensor Based
Our sensor-based blind spot systems use sophisticated radar sensors. They are hidden behind your rear bumper in strategic locations. Inside the vehicle, we install two visual indicators: one is located on the left side and one on the right, in easy view of the driver. We also install a hidden speaker that gives audible alerts. When you are driving up the road and someone comes into your left blind spot, the left indicator illuminates to warn you someone is there. If someone comes into your right side blind spot, the right indicator illuminates. If you activate your blinker on a side when someone is in your blind spot, an audible alert goes off as the second line of defense to protect you.
Camera Based Blind Spot Systems
The second type of blind spot system we offer is camera based. The install team at Ralph’s Radio will mount a camera underneath each of your side view mirrors. We aim the camera directly into the blind spot. When you are driving up the road and activate your left turn signal, the left camera image is displayed. If you activate the right turn signal, the right side camera image is displayed. We have four different solutions to display the blind spot cameras:
Integrate With Factory Colour Screen
If your vehicle came with a colour screen in the dash, there is a good possibility that Ralph’s Radio can integrate your blind spot cameras to display on that monitor.
Replacement Rear View Mirror
Another popular option is to have us install a replacement rear view mirror that has an embedded LCD monitor. Whenever you activate either turn signal, the monitor comes to life and displays the image of what is in your blind spot.
Upgraded Stereo System
If you drive an older vehicle or a model that was a lower trim level, an upgraded stereo system that includes a touchscreen monitor may be a great solution. Not only will you have a place to display your blind spot cameras, but you can also get the following modern technologies: CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS Navigation, Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, USB ports and even a backup camera.
Stand-Alone Monitor
Commercial vehicles are often best served with a stand-alone commercial grade monitor that can handle the abuse of a work vehicle. Our team has assembled models in multiple screen configurations and mounting options, so we are sure to have a solution for you.
